Zekeriyyâ Tâmir’in el-Hısrim Adlı Hikâye Kitabında Sosyal Eleştiri

Literary works of narrative type have an important place in transferring the values societies to next generations. Although poetry has a long history Arabic literature, story its modern sense began emerge late 19th century after European invasion Arab countries. In 1940s, students who were sent Europe, returned their countries and participated literary activities contributing greatly development storytelling. Among writers contributed Syrian storytelling is Zakaria Tamer. Tamer was unable continue his education due financial impossibilities. Despite difficult conditions he experienced, did not stop reading raising himself. Tamer, write following periods, processed topics such as illness, hunger, immorality, lust despair oppressed people writings. He criticized degenerate customs society, oppression political authority, persecution people. The book called al-Ḥiṣrim one works. our study, stories examined thematically, social criticisms classified evaluated. this way, it aimed determine problems addressed by author particular, general. addition determining value al-Ḥiṣrim, efforts level reached literature increases importance study.
